Our incenses (resin and sticks) are from Peru, have traditionally been used by the Natives for several rituals and are still today utilized in may different ways.
Burn incense: Folks and people all around the world burn different incenses. On the one side it is used to give off pleasant fragrances, and on the other side it is used for natural medical, ritual and magical purposes. During meditation it helps to get away from everyday thoughts. Incenses are also said to have a purifying effect. It cleans the air and ourselves from negative influences and drives evil spirits away. Natives, for instance, use incenses to purify themselves before all religious and ritual acts. Healers and shamans use it to call their spirits for help. It is said that the smoke is raising and thus making contact with the spirits.
Well-known incenses are, among others, tree gums such as olibanum and myrrh, which are also used in the Christian churches, sticks (incense sticks), different herbs and essential oil.
Incenses are offered in several forms. The best-known forms are incense sticks. They are easier to handle than loose incenses, more economically to use and can be produced with countless different fragrances. Incense sticks have originally been used in Asia where they are nowadays still used in temples, for ceremonies and for meditation.
Incenses were burned in many cultures (Celts, Hindus, Sumerians and others).
